The Formation of the Theory of Zhengge Shengge of Sheyan Needling Method
2022-06-24
Sheyan Acupuncture is a unique acupuncture method in Korea, which originated from two acupuncture works "Sheyanzheng Five Elements" and "Zhishan Medical Case". Both works were written in the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), and the exact time is not clear. "Saamzheng Five Elements" was formed between 1644 and 1742, and "Zhisan Medical Case" was completed after 1742. The authors of the two books are also not clear, only the author's aliases "Sheyan" and "Zhishan" appear in the preface respectively. The title of "She Yanzheng Five Elements" can be found in the preface of "Zhishan Medical Case". The two works complement each other and are inseparable. They have not been published and have been handed down in manuscript form until the 1970s. Because the two books were always copied together in history, they were mistaken for one book and called "Sheyan Needle Method".
"She Yanzheng Five Elements" is a book of acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions, the content is mainly the diagnosis of various diseases and acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions, and the attached chapters are citations of other acupuncture and moxibustion literature. "Zhishan Medical Cases" is a compilation of medical cases treated with "Sheyan Acupuncture", which mainly reflects Mr. Zhishan's clinical experience. The so-called "Sheyan acupuncture method" is actually summarized on the basis of these two works.
The concept of matching acupoints in Zhengge and Shengge
The biggest feature of the Sheyan acupuncture method is a method called "Zhengge" and "Shengge". There are many acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions in "She Yanzheng Five Elements", with a small number of acupoints, mainly five acupoints, and the same prescription appears in different disease entries. For example: the regular prescription of the Lung Meridian can be found in "Reinforcing and reducing dryness. Taibai, Taiyuan tonic, Shaofu, Yujixie" ("She Yanzheng Wuxing·Dryness Gate"); "Qi weak, lung sweat. Taibai, Taiyuan Tonic, Shaofu, Yuji diarrhea". Another example is the regular prescription of the liver meridian including: "branch drink, liver drink. Yingu, Ququan Bu, Jingqu, Zhongfeng Xie" ("She Yanzheng Five Elements Phlegm Drink"); "fear, liver sweat. Yingu, Ququan supplements, and drains through the canal and Zhongfeng" ("She Yanzheng Five Elements · Deficiency"). This kind of acupoint matching method is the embodiment of treating different diseases with the same treatment.
In fact, the words "Zhengge" and "Shengge" did not appear in "Sheyanzheng Five Elements". "Zhengge" and "Shengge". In the preface of "Zhishan Medical Cases", it is said: "The upright character is like rituals and music, criminal administration, and the superior character is like a good general's use of soldiers. The upright character, the heart meridian is empty, and the person who has a good character, less Chongbu, Yingu, and less sea. Lung meridian wind, Shaofu, Yujibu, Chize, Yingu diarrhea.” Such acupoint allocation method is an innovation of Sheyan acupuncture method, and is the result of comprehensive application of traditional Chinese medicine theory.
Formation of positive pattern and winning pattern with acupoints
What kind of TCM theory has influenced the formation of Sheyan Acupuncture Zhengge and Shengge?
First, Zhengge and Shengge are mainly based on the five-element attributes of Wushu acupoints to select acupoints.
The discussion of the five Shu points comes from the "Lingshu Jing·Benshu No. 2", "The lungs come from the Shaoshang...it is a well wood; slipping in the thenar...is a Xing; injecting in Taiyuan...is a Yu; traveling in the Taiyuan... Going through the canal...is the scripture; entering the chize...is the union." In "Difficulties Sixty-Fourth Difficulty", it says: "Yin well wood, yang well gold; Yang Hetu", discusses the five-element association of the five Shu points and the six Yin meridians and the Six Yang meridians.
Second, Zhengge and Shengge take "deficiency will nourish the mother, reality will relieve the child", "excessiveness will harm, inheritance is restraint, restraint will biochemical" as the principle of acupoint allocation and treatment.
"Su Wen·Jue Lun" puts forward that "the abundance will purify it, the deficiency will replenish it, and if it is not prosperous, it will be taken from the scriptures." "Nanjing" sixty-nine difficulties said: "The scriptures say that the deficiency is supplemented, and the reality is Reducing it, neither reality nor deficiency, take it from the scriptures. What does it mean? However: the deficiency will nourish the mother, and the reality will reduce the child." "Su Wen Liu Wei Zhi Da Lun" said: "Excessiveness will harm, inheritance is Restriction, regulation leads to biochemistry." The theory of hyperactivity and harm originates from the constant dynamic state of the five elements' mutual generation and mutual restraint, and it is the principle of tonifying and reducing treatment under the guidance of the relationship between the five elements.
Third, Zhengge and Shengge use self-meridian reinforcing and reducing methods and other meridian reinforcing and reducing methods to select acupoints.
Wang Haogu's "It's Difficult to Know·Acupoint Matching Cases" recorded the method of reinforcing and reducing the self-meridian and the method of reinforcing and reducing the other meridians, saying: ""Seventy-seven Difficulties" said: "Shang Gong treats those who are not sick, see the liver If you are sick, you know that the liver should be passed on to the spleen, so the spleen should be strengthened first...First, acupuncture for the word Butu in the foot Taiyin meridian, and another acupuncture for the word Buhuo, and then another acupuncture for the word Xie Mu in the liver meridian of the Foot Jueyin meridian , and another needle for purging fire.” Due to the disease of the liver meridian, the earth point of the spleen meridian is tonified, and the fire generates soil, the fire point of the spleen meridian is tonic, the wood point of the liver meridian is actually purged, and the fire point of the liver meridian is purged, which shows that according to the attributes of the five elements The method of matching acupoints with the theory of mutual generation and mutual restraint.
The method of replenishing and reducing the self-meridian comes from the article "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Juying Twelve Meridians of Diseased Wells and Yingyu Meridian Combined with Tonifying Deficiency and Reducing Excess", "The Lung Meridian of Hand Taiyin belongs to Xinjin... Tonic (if it is deficient, it is tonic)...Taiyuan (for Jingtu, Earth produces metal, which is the mother, and the scriptures say: if it is empty, it nourishes its mother). Xie (it is rich, it is purged)... Chi Ze (it is combined water, gold produces water, and it is actually purged its son)". To invigorate the lung meridian, prick Taiyuan, which is the Shu point of the lung meridian. The acupoint is the combined point of the lung meridian, which belongs to water, but in fact it relieves its son, and the son of gold is water, so pricking Chize can relieve the lung meridian.
He Jing’s reinforcing and reducing method comes from "Introduction to Medicine·Acupuncture and Moxibustion", "Whenever the needle goes against the direction and catches it, it will relieve its son. Like a fever in the heart, it must be relieved in the spleen and stomach. Needle goes along with the aid, that is tonic. Its mother is also. If the heart is deficient and sick, it must be replenished in the liver and gallbladder." In reality, it purifies the son, and in reality, the heart meridian fire purifies the spleen and stomach meridian; in deficiency, it nourishes the mother, invigorates the wood to generate fire, and insufficiency of the heart meridian is treated by invigorating the liver and gallbladder meridian. Although the disease is in the heart meridian, it can be treated by taking the points of other meridians.
Zhishan's Discussion on the Acupuncture Points of Zhengge and Shengge
Zhengge and Shengge are formed on the basis of TCM theory. The following is Mr. Zhishan's discussion on Zhengge and Shengge.
If it is correct, the heart meridian of fire is empty, and if it is empty, it will nourish its mother, and the liver wood will be strong, and the heart wood will be replenished; if it is restrained, it will be biochemical, and the kidney water will be yin, and the heart water will be less than the sea, and the wood will be suppressed. , meaning peace of mind.
Those who are victorious, the lung meridian wind evil, hyperactivity will harm inheritance and control, nourishing fire and making metal, then the heart fire will be lessened, and the lung fire will be supplemented by the thenar; in fact, the son will be purged, the lung water will be moistened, and the kidney water will be nourished. Yin Valley diarrhea.
The Twelve Meridians
The Lung Meridian is regular, Taiyuan, Taibaibu, Shaofu, Yujixie; the large intestine is regular, Zusanli, Quchibu, Yanggu, Yangxixie; Stomach Meridian is regular, Yanggu, Jiexibu, Zulinqi, Sink Gu Xie; Spleen Meridian is regular, Shaofu, Dadubu, Dadun, Yinbaixie; Heart Meridian is regular, Dadun, Shaochongbu, Yingu, Shaohaixie; Small Intestine is regular, Foot Linqi, Houxibu, Zutong Gu and Qiangu diarrhea; bladder normal pattern, Shangyang, Zhiyin tonic, Zusanli, Weizhong diarrhea; kidney meridian normal pattern, Jingqu, Fuliubu, Taibai, Taixi diarrhea; Pericardium regular pattern, Dadun, Zhongchongbu, Yin Valley, Qu Alisma; Sanjiao normal pattern, foot Linqi, Zhongzhu Bu, foot Tonggu, Yemen diarrhea; Yingu and Ququan make up, and drain through the canal and Zhongfeng.
The Twelve Meridians
The lung meridian is superior, Shaofu, Yujibu, Yingu and Chilisia; the large intestine is superior, Yingu, Yangxibu, Zutonggu and Erjianxie; , Shangyang, Lidui Xie; Spleen Meridian Shengge, Dadun, Yinbaibu, Jingqu, Shangqiu Xie; Heart Sutra Shengge, Yingu, Shaohaibu, Taibai, Shenmen Xie; Small Intestine Shengge, Zutonggu , Qiangubu, Zusanli, Xiaohaixie; bladder Shengge, Zusanli, Weizhongbu, Zulinqi, Shuguxie; kidney meridian Shengge, Taibai, Taixibu, Dadun, Yongquanxie; pericardium Sheng Ge, Yingu, Ququan Bu, Taibai, Daling Xie; Sanjiao Shengge, Zutonggu, Yemenbu, Zusanli, Tianjingxie; Gallbladder Meridian Shengge, Shangyang, Foot Orifice Yinbu, Yanggu, Yang Auxiliary diarrhea; Liver Meridian Shengge, through the canal, Zhongfeng tonic, Shaofu, interline diarrhea.
Through combing the literature, we can find that the acupoint allocation method of Zhengge and Shengge is to assign the five elements to the five-shu acupoints, viscera, and meridians through the five-element theory. Controlling, controlling biochemistry" is the treatment principle, which combines the reinforcing and reducing method of the self-meridian and the reinforcing-reducing method of other channels.
The theory of Sheyan Acupuncture originated from the "Neijing" and "Nanjing". With the spread of Chinese medical works in the past dynasties to Korea, it influenced and promoted the formation of a unique acupuncture system - Sheyan Acupuncture. The prescriptions in "She Yanzheng Five Elements" were originally varied, and Mr. Zhishan selected the main acupoint matching methods from them and proposed the theory of Zhengge and Shengge.
Using Zhengge and Shengge to match acupoints to verify the case
The records in "She Yan Zheng Wu Xing" are relatively brief, and clinical application is difficult. The following describes the author's treatment experience.
case one
Jiang, female, 36 years old, had facial fat ablation.
On June 15, 2012, the patient was treated with decoction by Professor Peng Jianzhong of the National Medical Hall of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine due to obvious atrophy of the right cheek muscles. Since June 18, 2012, he has cooperated with the author to use Sheyan acupuncture for treatment. The patient suffered from neuralgia after wisdom teeth extraction 5 years ago. After being treated with antibiotics by Western medicine, he developed pain due to cold. After massage and electrical stimulation, the cheek muscles atrophied significantly. Mental tension and pressure were high during the onset of the disease.
First visit, engraved symptoms: right facial fat tissue disappears, thin skin and less meat, no abnormal sensation and movement, insomnia. The author treats facial paralysis, according to "Sheyanzheng Five Elements" "Pianfengkou, liver strength, Laogong tonic, Zhaohaixie", combined with Gu, Taichong, Zusanli, Baihui, Sishencong, Dicang, and Qianzheng . invalid.
On June 19, 2012, the author considered this symptom to be flaccidity, and according to "treat flaccidity only by taking Yangming", treat it according to flaccidity, and use the stomach meridian to correct the condition, but it is invalid.
After several treatments, the author considered that the disease was caused by exogenous pathogens after wisdom teeth extraction. The scriptures say: "Lung heat and leaf burnt", according to the "Sheyan needling method" flaccidity treatment, use the lung meridian to regulate. invalid.
On July 9, 2012, the author changed the treatment idea again. Because the sensation and motor function of the affected part were normal, but the cheeks were less fleshy and the skin was thin, the treatment was based on flesh flaccidity, and the spleen meridian was used to standardize, that is, Shaofu, Dadubu, Dadun , hidden white diarrhea. The right is sick, so treat the left. After the needle was started, the patient touched the cheeks on both sides and made an exclamation sound. From the sense of touch, he felt that the right cheek was bulging and the two cheeks were equal. Observation by the author also shows that it is obviously swollen than before acupuncture.
During the course of treatment, the initial treatment was based on "deficiency of wind and mouth, liver strength, labor palace tonic, and sea diarrhea", but it was ineffective. Later, I changed the way of thinking several times, and finally treated according to the spleen meridian of "meat impotence", and the effect was remarkable. This shows that Sheyan needling method is effective. However, the description in "Sheyanzheng Five Elements" is very brief. When using Sheyan acupuncture for treatment, you must first make a correct diagnosis of the disease based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, and then use Sheyan acupuncture for effective treatment.
case two
Fan, male, 63 years old, suffered from stroke sequelae.
In March 2012, the patient suffered from stroke and hemiplegia for 16 years, and his right upper and lower extremities were inconvenient. The right upper limb cannot be lifted, and the right hand needs to be lifted with the left hand and placed on the table for pulse diagnosis. After the patient introduced the condition, the author found that the patient's symptoms were very similar to a medical case in "Zhishan Medical Case". "A man, about sixty years old. Climbing the mountain to collect coke, he suddenly passed out, his right hand and foot were not retracted, his eyes turned to the right and there was no black eye, so he could not see things, his back was weak. Lao Gongbu, Zhao Haixie. One day While sitting, once with the support of the stick, he can shoot a few times, and for the third time, he can walk freely, his mouth is half-smiling, his eyes are as usual, and he is a fool, so he does not gradually lose his needle." The patient also had a sudden attack one day while working on the mountain, and he woke up after sitting for several hours, with right side hemiplegia. The author treated the Laogong and Zhaohai points on the healthy side with acupuncture. After 20 minutes of acupuncture, the patient was able to lift his right hand over the top of his head by himself.
The theories of Zhengge and Shengge are concise and can be used as the theoretical backbone of Sheyan acupuncture, but the theoretical explanation of Sheyan acupuncture is not complete enough and needs to be further studied in the future to provide a reliable basis for clinical application.
