        Around 1450 A.D., the emergence of academic disputes between the two schools of Tibetan medicine, namely the southern school and the northern school, which had different opinions on the identification of medicines and some theoretical fields in the "Four Medical Codes", marked the development of Tibetan medicine to a new stage. stage. From 1600 to 1959 AD, Tibetan medicine developed steadily, but there was no active situation.

        After the peaceful liberation of Tibet, the party and the state attached great importance to the development of ethnic medicine, established Tibetan medicine institutions in Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan and other places, and gradually moved on the right track. Especially since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the cause of Tibetan medicine has been developed. Tibet and Qinghai have established provincial-level Tibetan hospitals and Tibetan medicine production bases, namely Tibet Autonomous Region Tibetan Medicine Factory and Qinghai Tibetan Medicine Preparation Center. Gansu, Tibet, Qinghai and other places, cities, and prefectures have established prefecture-level Tibetan medical institutions, and some counties have also established corresponding Tibetan medical institutions.
